Translink Chinook Seabus Art Installation

A collaborative public art project between Translink and Host Consulting, featuring Chinook artists Angela George, Siobhan Joseph and Kelly Cannell.

In 2020, HOST was selected by Translink to lead a major public art project for their Seabus transit system. HOST has selected three MST artists to contribute to a major project transforming the “Burrard Chinook,” Translink’s newest SeaBus vessel, into a cohesive piece of art.

HOST issued an artist RFP in January 2021, and selected three Indigenous women who will create their own Chinook salmon designs and work collaboratively to make one comprehensive vision for the boat, transforming the walls, roof, windows, life rafts, muster station signage, vessel name, and side vents into a living piece of Indigenous history in "British Columbia".
